What Goes Into Hair Prep

When it comes to hair prep, what you’re essentially attempting to do is “dry out” the hair with your products for a more cooperative canvas as a dryer hair texture holds a curl not only better but longer.  

This can be done a number of different ways.. from mousse to volume sprays, to dry texture spray and even the effect from hot tools.

• I blow dry in a volume spray at the root on freshly washed hair followed by hair spray once the hair is dry.
• Hair sprays have ingredients in them that dry out the hair while also adding hold and shine.
• I just go through every other section of hair with a medium to strong hold hair spray from root to mid lengths, avoiding the ends.
• Allow the hair spray to sit for a few minutes before you brush it through.  From there, you can use your curling irons and bobby pins much more effectively, especially if you follow up with a dry texturizing spray after curling.
